Therapeutic Process
Initial Assessment
It's really important that the counsellor and client are a good fit for each other, which is why initial assessment is important. This gets straight to the core issue as to why you may have come to therapy. It can involve some questions around your past and present, around certain thoughts and behaviour patterns that may no longer be serving you , which can lead us on to the next stages of working together.

Treatment
The goals which we may have outlined in our initial sessions brings us to a place of work and process. What this could look like for each person is unique. During this time, it's my job to notice, be curious and give potential feedback to what may help using integrative approaches. I will aim to always bring empathy, genuineness, warmth and an open hearted approach in working with you. Interventions will always be collaboratively approached. I try to work creatively and intuitively, so that I can meet the needs of each client, this will involve regular check ins.
The duration of psychotherapy can be different for everyone, and depends on what brings you.
Logistics
All work with clients is done so in a confidential, professional and secure manner. I work abiding by the ethical standards of the IACP code of ethics.
Session length will be 50-60 minutes, with the first initial session and assessment around 1 hour and 20 minutes. This is to ensure that the initial assessment can be done so at a comfortable pace, set by you. It also allows me, to explain the confidentiality agreement and ensures any queries you may have to be answered
